Applying for a Link Foundation Energy Fellowship

To be considered for a fellowship, Applicants must upload to the online portal by December 8, 2026:

  • A description of the project that places the applicant's research in the context of current activities in the field and makes a case for potential impact on societal energy supply and/or utilization.   The project description may not exceed 2 pages and 500 words exclusive of references and figure captions.
  • A detailed resume. The format and length are up to the candidate but should include the following information:
    1. Name and contact information for the candidate
    2. The candidate's expertise and aspirations
    3. Thesis title
    4. Degree-granting institution and discipline/department
    5. Primary PhD Advisor(s)
    6. Years since start of PhD studies
    7. Citation for a publication directly related to the proposed project (if available)
    8. Education to date
    9. Relevant experience and publications'
    10. Names, titles, and contact information for three letters of recommendation, including letter(s) from the applicant's dissertation advisor(s)

Applications do not need to complete an application in one session, and may add to or edit information prior to the deadline.

Three references must upload letters of recommendation to the on-line portal by 12:00 PM Eastern time on Tuesday, December 15, 2026. Upon submission of a complete application, referees will automatically receive an email with a secure link and password to upload their letter.   Recommendations must be submitted as a PDF and are limited to 2 pages.
